Join Us At L.U.C.K we're always looking for new and exciting team members. It doesn't matter if you've got a level of proficiency in a Kayak or Canoe, or if you've never been on the water before - why not give it a go?! As well as weekly Brayford sessions, where we practice skills and go for general paddles on the water between the University of Lincoln and the Brayford Waterfront (as well on the nearby Canals), we also hold regular weekly Pool Sessions at a local leisure centre. The aim of these Pool Sessions is to teach skills in a safe and warm environment which can then be taken out onto the water. That includes safe escape from a Kayak, rolling, braces and the odd game of Polo. As a University team, you'd expect to see a varied social side to our team and L.U.C.K prides itself on having a fantastic social element to the team. With two members of the committee assigned to organising our social events, that means nights out, trips and special occasions, there's always something to do when you're not on the water. We tend to have one social a week, which means with the Brayford Session, Pool Session and Social you'll have so much to do with the team and we're sure you'll make some fantastic lifelong friends. |
How to Join us? The best way to express your interest in L.U.C.K is to contact us, or if you're a new student to the University of Lincoln then pop down to one of the two fresher's fairs that are held each year in September and January (at the start of each new semester). We'll also be happy to hear from new members who'd like to join us, so don't delay and contact us today! Our regular sessions are held on a Wednesday at around 2pm and we meet outside the Lincoln Canoe Club on the main path towards the University of Lincoln. If all else fails, pop down to one of our meetings. You can see the location map (the Canoe Club is number 4) a little larger by clicking on it.

Alumni Network Are you a former member of L.U.C.K or have you recently graduated from the University of Lincoln? No worries, Alumni members of the L.U.C.K team often return to take part in trips or just to see old team mates, and recently we've launched a special Facebook group for former team members. As we're talking about the Alumni Network, I think everyone on the team would like to take this opportunity to thank the past team members who have left the team this year.
