Hello, and welcome! Welcome to the official BRAND NEW website for the Lincoln University Canoe and Kayak team. Based at the University of Lincoln, we're a large group of like-minded students who enjoy nothing more than getting out on the water in Kayaks and Canoes. Often we'll be found paddleing the Brayford, just outside the University, on a Wednesday afternoon but we also organise a number of trips during the year to locations as varied as Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Newquay and Wales. So if you've always wondered who the students walking around in brightly coloured L.U.C.K hoodies or who's paddingling and rolling between the University and Brayford waterfont, well now you know! We're always looking for new members to join our team and if you think Kayaking could be for you, then why not get in contact with us? Or of course, you can find us at the various Freshers Fair's at the start of each Semester here at the University of Lincoln. Newquay 2012 We're very pleased to announce we now have details of our 2012 trip to Newquay. One of the most anticpated trips of the academic year, this year we'll be visiting from Fri 30th March - Fri 6th April. We've already got lots of exciting events organised for our members including a Fancy Dress night out, the beach, surf kayaking, a day in St. Ives and of course our annual Punch Night. So if you're thinking of joining us for Newquay 2012, keep an eye out and we'll have a meeting before the end of January. |
L.U.C.K recently attended the 2011 Tyne Tour in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Here's the team just before they take the water. Tyne Tour 2011 For those of you who came on Tyne Tour 2010, you'll know what a fantastic time we had with the many other University teams from across the country, Kayaking down the River Tyne and the infamous Wardens Gauge. Tyne is always a great chance to make new freinds, pick up of some top quality kayaking equipment and really test your skills with lots of other kayakers from all over the country. The Lincoln Canoe Club and SU As a society at the Univesity of Lincoln, we work hand in hand with the Lincoln University Studnets Union which is in charge of overseeing all societies and sports teams within the University. More information on the Lincoln University Students Union can be found here. We are also affiliated to the Lincoln Canoe Club, making use of their canoe buiding on the edge of the University Campus. 2012's First Social News just in! The first L.U.C.K social of 2012 will be taking place very soon. Why not pop along and see why L.U.C.K has a reputation as a very social club. Open Mic Night @ L4, Lincoln. For the first social of 2012, we'll be asking members to join us at the L4 Bar in Guildhall St, Lincoln for their regular Open Mic Night. For moe info contact our social secretaries. Don't worry if you can't make the first social, they'll be another big social night out for L.U.C.K members soon.
